Happy Dussehra..!!

Everyday sun rises to give us a message that light will always beat the darkness. Lets follow the same natural rule and enjoy the victory of good over evil.... HaPpY DuSsEhRa

History in brief....

Among Hindus, Lord Rama is considered to have a culmination of all the best qualities that a human can possess, required to make this world a happy place. Both the festivals of Diwali and Dussehra are celebrated in honor of Lord Rama and his morals. Dussehra is the tenth day of Navratri, in the month of Ashwin-kartik, while Diwali is celebrated 20 days ahead of Dussehra. Lord Rama emerged victorious in a ferocious battle against Ravana who had abducted Sita. Inspite of all powers that Ravana possessed, it was ultimately the good intensions of Lord Rama that saw the face of Victory. This is generally depicted on the day of Dussehra by burning the effigies of Ravana and Lord Rama’s bow that kills him. People every year on this day get the moral of leading a righteous life.

Dussehra also marks the day when Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura. She had fought a long and ferocious battle against him, who had the boon of not getting harm with weapons. Ultimately, it was “the good” Goddess Durga who won on this day after a 10 day long battle.

We've been listening these legends as our bed-time stories...

But what actually does it mean..??

Ever thought of it..??

Just burning the dummies.. and polluting the environment is not a festive spirit...

Everyone has a devil lurking inside somewhere.
The devil- our weak point- needs to be chased away. Find the devil inside you and get rid of it. What better time than Dussehra to think about the ridding oneself of the devil..????

Safety Alarm.. Some Help For You..!!

Some Safety Tips...
Do Read Them.. Its For Your Own Life....!!!

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do:
The elbow is the strongest point on your body...If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,

DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.

Toss it away from you.... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will gofor the wallet/purse.

RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.... The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their
chequebook, or making a list, etc.)

DON'T DO THIS!

The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go.

AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR , LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE...

If someone is in the car with a gun to your head

DO NOT DRIVE OFF!

INSTEAD gun the engine!
and speed into anything, wrecking the car.

Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it !

As soon as the car crashes bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A) Be aware:
Look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor and in the back seat..

B) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.

Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

C) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side... If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.

IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than
dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs.

Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot.

This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control,

ALWAYS RUN!

The predator will only hit
you 4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.

RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. Another Safety Point:
Someone told me that her  friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird..
The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door..'
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over.
The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'
He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

9.  Water scam!
If you wakeup in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe,

DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE!

These people turn on all your outside taps full ball so that you will go out to investigate and then attack....

BETA Version

Hey Readers,

While surfing on net, you all must have come across BETA Versions of Yahoo!, Google Chrome etc..
But what exactly is BETA Version????

When a new product is created or upgraded, there are several stages in development before the product can be sold in the commercial marketplace. The first stage is the alpha stage, in which the product is tested by software testers within the company and debugged as necessary. A beta version is the name for the second stage of software testing, in which it is released for free or a reduced price to a group of users.

The beta version of a software release is considered to be a preview. It has all the standard features, but is not yet ready for wide release or sale. During this point, the company will collect feedback from users about the product's usability — what they like and what should be changed — before the product's wide release. A beta version of a program can be either a closed beta, which is limited to a specific group of users, or an open beta, which is available for the general public to use.

Though beta version products will often have all the features available in the final version of the product, they generally have limited, if any, technical support available to users. However, many products will often remain in beta version for years, during which time they are used by a wide audience as if they were full versions of products.

The word "beta" comes from the Greek, for the second letter in the alphabet. The term "betaversion," or "beta test," originated with early hardware tests for IBM computers, where the beta test was used to examine whether the hardware properly performed all its listed functions.

Today, most software programs are first released in beta version before being marketed for general release. A beta version can also be applied to a website, which is testing its features and relying on audience feedback. Beta websites are frequently first shown on a secret domain that is only available to their test audience, before being transferred to their real domain for wide viewing.
